Some wedding days are beautiful.
And then there are the wedding days where everything just clicks...the couple, the energy, the locations, the people, the little in-between moments, and the trust.
Gaby and David’s December 2025 wedding was absolutely one of those days.
In fact, I’m just going to say it: this was one of my favorite weddings of the winter.
From their ceremony at the beautiful Knowles Memorial Chapel at Rollins College in Winter Park to their reception at the iconic Grand Bohemian Orlando, their day had that perfect mix of timeless elegance, personality, celebration, and really good energy.
And Gaby and David?
The sweetest.
They trusted me completely.
And as a photographer, that kind of trust is everything.
There is something special about getting married at Rollins College.
The historic architecture, beautiful grounds, and timeless character of the campus create a setting that feels romantic without trying too hard. Knowles Memorial Chapel, in particular, gives a wedding ceremony that classic, almost cinematic feeling that photographs beautifully.
But what I loved most about Gaby and David's day wasn't simply the setting. It was them...
They were completely present with each other.
They laughed. They soaked it all in. They trusted the process.
And they let me do what I love most: create photographs that feel like them, rather than forcing their wedding day into a formula.
That distinction matters.
Because my approach to wedding photography has never been about making every couple pose the same way or turning your wedding into a photoshoot. I want the beautiful portraits, absolutely. But I also want the sideways glances.
The giant laughs.
The nervous excitement.
The hand squeeze.
The “wait, are we actually married?!” moments.
The people you love losing their minds on the dance floor.
Basically, the stuff you'll remember long after the flowers are gone.
One of my favorite parts of Gaby and David’s wedding day happened before they even saw each other.
Instead of doing a traditional first look, they chose a first touch, standing on opposite sides of a door, close enough to feel each other there, but still saving that first face-to-face moment for the aisle.
And then we made it even more meaningful.
Their parents joined them to give them their blessings before the ceremony.
It was one of those quiet moments that didn't need much direction. Just two people about to get married, surrounded by the people who helped shape them, taking a breath before the day really began.
But because apparently we weren't done having fun yet...We decided to mess with David.
At the last minute, we told him that Gaby had changed her mind and wanted to do a first look after all.
David was ready. The anticipation was there. The camera was ready.
And then he turned around...
...and it was his best man wearing a wedding dress.
I wish I could properly put his reaction into words.
Let's just say David was not expecting that plot twist. And honestly, this is exactly why I love wedding days.
Yes, I want to create the beautiful, timeless, editorial portraits that you'll frame and pass down for generations.
But I also want the photographs that make you laugh ten years from now. The “wait, did that actually happen?” ones.
Because your wedding day doesn't have to be serious every second. It should feel like you.
Gaby and David gave me complete trust throughout their day, and that trust gave us room to create moments that were both beautiful and completely unforgettable.
And David's best man in a wedding dress?
That one is definitely going in the family history books.
After their sweet first touch, their parents’ blessings, and one very confused groom, it was finally time for Gaby and David to see each other for real.
Their ceremony at Knowles Memorial Chapel at Rollins College was everything you hope a wedding ceremony will be, beautiful, emotional, and full of those quiet little moments that make you pause and take it all in. Then, just like that, we traded the timeless charm of Winter Park for the bold, artistic energy of The Grand Bohemian Orlando for the reception.
The celebration was lively, joyful, and completely them; filled with laughter, dancing, happy tears, and plenty of moments that had everyone having the best time. I loved how their day moved so naturally between the romantic and the playful: one minute we were documenting an emotional ceremony steeped in tradition, and the next we were celebrating on the dance floor with two people who were clearly having the time of their lives. It was elegant without ever feeling stiff, polished without losing the fun, and honestly, that balance is exactly what makes a wedding day unforgettable.
If you're planning a 2027 or 2028 wedding in Orlando, Central Florida, or somewhere a little farther away, I want you to know this:
You don't need to be models to have incredible wedding photographs. You don't need to know how to pose. And you definitely don't need to spend your entire wedding day worrying about the camera.
You just need to trust your photographer and be willing to have a really good time. I'll take care of the rest.
I'll guide you when you need direction, give you space when the moment deserves to unfold naturally, find the good light, fix the little things you didn't notice, and bring the energy when you need a hype woman. And if there's an opportunity to create something a little unexpected?
You already know I'm going to say, “Trust me.”
Because I don't want you to remember your wedding as a day where you were constantly posing for photos.
I want you to remember how it felt.
The butterflies before the ceremony.
Your parents' hugs.
The ridiculous inside jokes.
Your best friends losing their minds on the dance floor.
The moment you looked at each other and realized, we're married.
Those are the photographs I want to make for you. The beautiful ones, yes.
But especially the ones that make you laugh, cry, and tell the story all over again.
If you're looking for a Florida or destination wedding photographer who brings editorial imagery, genuine emotion, attentive guidance, and very good vibes to the day, you might have just found your girl.
Let's make something unforgettable.
